Book says take out the servo ( as if you can get to one nut) But I see by searching that is not necessary. Never was on any other car. So, disconnect the lines, off the two nuts, but it feels like it is being held in by a spring or something. Can't find a decent cross section. Book just says "remove" What is up before I pull real hard and have to order big expensive things I destroyed!

OK, got the darn thing out. Just hung up.
Then I find out, no mater how many times as read the forum on " a spring you unwind" no way am I getting the spring retainer out, and then read about getting the circlips out and the nylon plunger. OK ordering a new one along with the o-rings for the PDWA. FWIW, the Rimmer master cylinder kit did not include the o-ring between cylinder and booster.

Guess this is why the manual does not have procedure for rebuilding. It would take more labor hours getting it apart than putting in a new one.

Seems brake cleaner is not compatible with DOT 5. Alcohol?

When I changed my master cylinder,. I could not get it off with the servo in position, so had to remove it as a unit. And then, yes, the master cylinder was "stuck" into the servo, and I was very puzzled as to how it was supposed to release until I applied a little more "force" and it separated. I fitted a complete new master,. Works perfectly.Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.
