Moving Avatars

How do some of you guys get your Avatars to move between various photos? I thought I was quite technically minded when it comes to PC's but it's beaten me!!

As a number of others have done so recently, I thought I would update my avatar to show a slideshow of more than one picture of my own Stag. Stagnjag (Dave H) referred me to the web site http://www.[highlight= #ffff88]picasion[/highlight].com to try as this site allows you to create your own animated GIF files. Had a go and it works, and have now modified my own avatar using a saved animated.gif created by [highlight= #ffff88]picasion[/highlight]. If anyone's interested this is how I did it.

• Log on to [highlight= #ffff88]picasion[/highlight].com and upload the pictures you want to use.
• Amend the size down to 125 pixels and set the changeover speed you want
  
• Save the file on your PC (download it)
  
• Use this file & upload it as your new avatar.

You could just leave it as a still photo, or am I the only person to find moving avatars (and anything else that flashes, such asadverts) extremely distracting when you're trying to read something on the screen?

Yes it is a bit fast - I'll slow it down later when back on the home pc.
