My cycle route brought me into the village from the country lanes on that side of the river yesterday. There's also a couple of cross country routes past Lullingstone or the bird sanctuary that bring you in from that direction. The other lane for road traffic that takes you into Farninghamvillage was closedforresurfacing. So anyone who came into the village by car yesterday from thatdirection whodidn't want to get it wet faced about a 15 mile detour backthrough Swanley.
The pavement to the left was clear so I didn't get wet feet.
The water by the bridge from the overspill wasn't actually that deep but as I was stopped to take some pictures a couple of cars went through. A women driving a Jeep Wrangler crawled through very slowly the water hardly reached the wheel rims. A white van man in what was obviously a company vehicle piled in at high speed. My Phone camera was to slow starting up to capture it. A posh women in a Jag estate and green wellies (I could tell she was posh before she spoke because it wasn't a Volvo) came from the other direction and stopped on the bridge when she saw the water on the other side. She asked me how deep it was before saying she wouldn't risk it as "this has got low profile tyres" she obvious had left the Chelsea tractor at home.
I'vebeen past the Roman Villa loads of times but nevergone in.
