Stag Engine Builder recommendations West Midlands

I am looking to get a Stag Triumph engine rebuilt. Engine will be out of the car Friday. Engine needs unleaded seats, perhaps a skim. Either new rings or rebore not sure until the heads are off this weekend (I hope)

Crank & camshafts I believe are good, there is no internal water pump.


Could anyone recommend an engineering workshop to rebuild my engine in the West Midlands?

Heads don’t need unleaded seats. The heads are aluminium, so already have hard seat inserts. Check that the exhaust valves have 155524VL etched into the top of the stem. If so, they are good to go with unleaded.

Speak to Clive Tate or James Scott you can find both numbers in the club mag, Clive's at the front, Scotty in the out and about section, he's a coordinator (South Birmingham, I think).

Agree with Goldstar about contacting James Scott (Scooty). He recently did a fabulous job replacing my timing chains and sprockets and removing and replacing , the heads as well as having them skimmed and renewing the valves. Not yet I am just / still removing the head studs - slowly.
