I used my TR as my daily driver for several years, I spent every penny I had buying and rebuilding it and it didn't even have a garage for the first 10 years or so.

Now I have 5 triumphs, but if I had to go back to a single car it would be one of them and no modern

I did with mine when I first bought her for 4 years.
Back then in the late 80's it was just an old car at 12 years old.
Daily driver, hardtop for winter etc.
That was a time when you really got to know your car.

Same here, 1984 to 1990 our daily car used for everything in all weathers.
20,000 miles in one year when I was using it to get to work in north London every day.

So agree that you really get to know the car like this - got to know mine inside out!

                Definitely!

I'd be slightly worried about the damage that salt can do to exposed areas as I discovered last year when I used it on heavily salted roads but it's easy enough to just give the car a good power wash after such a mishap..
Case in point I've several minor rusted areas of the car that need some refurbishment after 25 years since it was last restored but I can't bear the idea of not having it to drive whenever I want!

                Maybe next year -LOL!

Yes, I always have done. Can’t imagine the 400 mile round trip to my Mother’s house at Christmas in any other car. It’s usually raining or snowing…

I bought mine as a daily driver.........but with all the work I've done on her I now keep her mollycoddled in the garage over winter. Also winter is when the fun time starts and the next project on the car gets done! Time to start striping and rebuilding the carbs this year!!......oh, and fix the oil leak.....and fix the heater controls.....etc....etc LOL
