Mark 2 rad to replace mark 1 rad

Hi everyone, I have a mark 1 and need to replace the rad. I have fitted the Stagweber header tank so I was wondering whether I could fit a mark 2 rad instead of a mark 1 rad? I don’t need rad pressure cap anymore so thought a mark 2 rad would be best. Any views welcome. Thanks

I have the same problem on my TR that has a header tank fitted. I use a piece of rubber cut from an old wellington boot under a 22 lb cap on the rad, and a 13 lb cap on the header tank, that has done the job for years.
Since your mk1 rad is leaking I would just go for a mk2 rad instead
