At last a dry day when I am not working

When I bought my Stag nearly three years ago the centre console was damaged, dueI suspect finger nailscatching it while releasing the handbrake:X

I recently managed to get a replacement from Martin at Just Triumph. It cleaned up quite well amazing what boot polish will do. I even managed to remove the choke cable and put it back again. Quite pleased with it really except the car still wont run properly.

Don't think its anything to do with today but it starts runs for 2-3mins then stops even if you rev the engine to say 2000rpm it will run then the revs drop and the car stops

Its had a new coil but we have stripped the carbs and put back so I suspect something not quite right with them.:X

      Hi Phil

Sorry I can't help you with your problem however I'm hoping you might be able to help me with mine !

I've just had my centre console - and the whole interior - out and despite me saying I'd mark everything, you know what it's like - spare screws etc

Are there just two main screws that hold the console in? - the two that go into the floor either side of the gear lever - apart fromseveral smaller ones that go through it and into the heatercontrol panel

I've got two spare screws which are identical to those that go into the floor and I'll be b******* if I can remember where they came from :shock:

        Hi

Probably not much help as I like you had the two screws into the floor and two into the heater (before the four smaller black ones that hold the heater front on)

I did think I might have a couple of spares ones as well but then remembered to fit the parcel shelf

        Phil

Hi Phil, Could it be a fuel starvation problem, blocked filter maybe. Are you running on points or luminition type electronic, if points it could be the condenser.

              Hi Bob

              I see they're keeping you busy:shock:

We stripped the carbs (Regal we again Reg did it I watched) because they were flooding. I think we have the floats too far the other way now but I am too chicken to try on my own. We are meeting up this evening so will arrange another look.

It was with fear and trembling that I attempted to do the console on my own as it is I only had one screw and three little clips left over and the choke light now works

I'll get there in the end

              Phil
