    start simple, oil in dash pots, carb balance and mixture, timing, then plugs and leads, not forgetting rotor arm and cap, only then move on to internals, tappet clearance, then compression test if nothing found.
    its fat to easy to jump in at the deep end before all basics have been checked

      Check the 12V supply to the Lumenition is good (check that the supply is not taken from the coil +ve as this is only a 6V supply due to the ballast resistance), if the supply is taken from the inertia switch (as is common) then take the inertia switch apart and clean up the contacts (very quick and easy to do).

      Also check the connections/connectors from the Lumenition controller to the distributor as these can be problematic.
