    washer bottle

Having melted the old washerbottle, having left it resting on the exhaust manifold, I bought a 'new' one from Rimmers who assure me it is exactly as the originals. Same shape but it isn't!

Whentrying to fit it itfalls through the original bracket .

The tapered moulding on the back of the bottlewhich fits into the bracketis 5mmnarrower than the old bottle. Useless!

Mine is a Mk1. Is the bottle different? Short of disturbing the original bracket and getting the hammer out,:?who sells a proper replacement which is to the original spec?

Hiya, I believe the washer bottles are the same, you've just become another victim of an inferior supplier ! Stoneleigh is a good bet for the right one, if you're not going, perhaps someone you know is. Martin.

As far as I know they are all the same. Peter wouldn't sell something that doesn't fit:

The last year stags had a different type of washer bottle with the motor on the side not the top, but the shape is still the same and fits the same bracket. so i would send back if it does not fit, but before that why not try on a friends car to rule out you having the wrong bracket

Gents this is a photo of my washer bottle with what seems to be the motor on the top. It was built in 77 first registered in 78

              Hi
I've been through exactly the same problem. The first bottle jumped off the bracket while travelling resulting in melted plastic, clouds of steam and gushing hot water. Thought my radiator had exploded or something. Told Rimmers and they sent a new one which confirmed it's the wrong size for the bracket as checked it against original retrieved from bin. Told them and they just sort of shrugged down the phone! I've wired mine on in the meantime. That was a year ago and they know it's wrong. Get your money back!
