:?can anyone help.i have two elderly neighbours whom one is disabled and the other relies heavily on their 3yr old corsa to undertake 3 to 4 short trips evey week less than a mile some times only one trip. as a result the battery on the car doesn,t last to long before it needs a charge every 3/4 weeks .

question is im sure ive heard of a charging unit that can be plugged in to the auxilary socket and will give a constant trickle charge to top up, solar powered.but cant find .the car is always parked outside.there is no fault with the charging system or battery,it is just the unusual demand .

Sound like they need to take the scenic route to the shopsso the alternator can give the battery a good charge.

And make sure thesocket is permanently live.

3 OR 4 short trips every week should still be enough to keep the battery ok. I would check the battery and or alternator 1st.
