oil pick up strainer

Im in the middle of cleaning the oil pick up strainer,is the wire gauge remove able ?

IIRC it is crimped in place so probably not, but I have never had any problems cleaning it out.

Okay thanks,ive got some lumps inside the gauge,ill give it more cleaning

If the gauze is worked on to clean vigorously it can escape the fairly poor crimp. Refitting is not easily achieved once it’s come out!
