Can someone please tell me what sizes the bolts are that attach the T bar to the top of the windscreen? (part numbers are 4x 519034 and 1x 519039.) The hard top is fitted on my Stag, so I can't take the top ones out to have a look.
Mike.
For that big central one inside the car I used a pan-head (button-head) with a hex socket (allen key). Allows good control without slipping or scuffing of the vinyl when drawing the T Bar into position.

Snap! I had trouble getting that off when I disassembled the car and rather butchered it. In the end I welded a caged nut into the windscreen and have a stainless button head hex as well. The t bar fitted fairly well without any cover, now it needs to go 1/2 inch forward.
I think today I’m going to remove it and cut out some material from that area, It needs to fit more snugly there. Also going to get some beefy hooks that I will bolt to the underside of the firewall (there are 4 convenient 5/16 welded nuts there) so I can use straps to draw the t bar forwards.
I took it off again and cleaned up the front, also gave the lower lip (where the single screw goes) a slight bend to help it settle into the windscreen better. I lost the interior lamp wires down the Bpost as those connectors only just fit the small hole so after removing the post trim decided to extend those wires and make them smaller bullet connections so as to ease install, now they feed through easily and I can even make the connection through the Bpost acess holes, plus I added some heatshrink where they feed into the hole for protection whilst I was messing with the Tbar install.
The T bar was still not lined up so after starting the front 5 bolts I mounted a large hook each side just under the scuttle using the existing welded in nuts and used ratchet straps to draw it forward enough but I could only get one side in, The other side was also off to the inside so once that bolt was in I moved one ratchet strap to run from Tbar to the holes where the rear suspension mounts bolt through. It then lined up and I was able to get the final bolt in.. Job done - and I didn't put my shoulder into it!
Jake the car up the other side to which you are having the problem (that’s the side ones ) the front one is a pain but again jack the car up at different places and eventually all lines up
