Dipstick tube

I need to relocate my dipstick tube. The way it is currently installed I cannot insert the dipstick because the exhaust manifold is in the way.
Do I need to remove the oil pan to do this or can I bend the tube were it sits? The engine is out of the car - recently rebuilt and I will reinstall it soon.

Well I answered my own question. It was not too hard to bend the tube to a position where there would be clearance.
