Diff Studs

Whats it like getting the studs out the back of the diff,i tried a stud extractor today but keep slipping,any other ideas to replace them

Double nut method. When I did my diff one stud came out, three stayed in. I wasn't trying to take them out though. Tim

mine were also electrolytically welded to the diff rear plate - I left well alone. I'd suggest you keep your helicoils handy Dave if you're going to remove them.

I made a mistake and cut the studs, as the back plate was rusty tring to get the back plate of to repair, i got the studs out today by welding a nut on what was left of the studs

bit of heat and a half decent stud extractor did the job for me
