After willfully ignoring it for a few years I finally took a good look at my Vinyl Dashboard and it is, as I suspected a bit of a mess.
The lower edge is pretty rusty in places and I may have to weld in some new metal. I found a good thread on that https://www.socforum.com/forum/forum...the-dash/page2
So my question is just which of the multiple captive screws etc are actually needed? I really dont want to add captives that will never be used, post #24 on the above thread shows it.
Luckily the area around the steering column mount is fairly OK, so I will not need to mess with that area but I have 2 x what looks like 5/16 captives in the area of the centre console that from what I can find out are for a support panel that was only on very early cars, cant say I have one either!. Theres the bonnet release that may be mounted under there and maybe a slot for the speedo reset cable. but I cant think of anything else??
Anyone think of any more?
