Don't know for certain, but I bore mine larger when modifying the cooling system on my injection engines to 1/2 in BSP so I would suspect the original size was 3/8 BSP

Thanks Seaking. I'm thinking about carrying out the mod on the RH transfer housing, mines a MK 2, so I guessing, by Flying Farmers comments, the MK 2 housing should be ok for a 3/8 tap
