    Outer chrome B post cappings

Are these chrome/stainless cappings secured to the B post by way of screws or pop rivets? The reason I ask is that I have taken them off my car and they were sadly secured with poor inaccurate screws, which in fact appear to be household electrical screws! I placed an order with Rimmers specifically requesting the correct screws for the two cappings and also advising that they should not be counter sunk. I received counter sunk screws but these clearly are not appropriate as the holes in the chrome cappings are not countersunk. I have looked at the exploded diagram on their site and it appears that pop rivets are used? Please may I ask what is the correct fitting...……...is it the use of screws, in which case what size etc or is it pop rivets?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but I am new to owning a Stag and have nothing to use as a guide because I have not yet seen any other Stags at close proximity to enable me to have a glance at the cappings!

As ever, much obliged for any guidance!

Hi Terry, Rimmers part number 510273 is the correct screw. These are semi countersunk with a slightly domed top and are what mine are secured with.

Mines had pop rivets on one side and semi countersunk on the other

Mine are all pop riveted Front and tear, Probably why you see no countersink holes, however the chrome protector strip at the rear is screwed with pan heads. It will probably cover the pop rivets whenever I screw it on!

There seems to be some confusion around whether you mean the ones on top of the B-post (with the hard top electrical connection inside), or the vertical external covers. The ones on top are held in place by 510273 as per post #2. The vertical ones are held in place by pop rivets.

Yes, sorry that my outline description was not necessarily clear. I meant the vertical external covers. Am I correct than in assuming that from what has been advised that these external covers are correctly fitted by way of pop rivets?
