Mk1 front seat back verses Mk1 Fed front seat back
Mk1 front seat back verses Mk1 Fed front seat back
I'm attempting to re-foam my Fed. Mk1 front seat. This is the seat back part. It has an integrated headrest which is bolted in from the back by 4 small bolts. If you rebuilt a Mk1 UK front seat, can you tell me if the frame looks similar or is the same?
Here's a photo of my Mk1 fed. seat back. Since the UK ones don't have the head rest, how is the the non head head foam and cover fitted? Are they just glued in or to the seat clips hold them in?

Chris Spain of Stagweber knows these seats and has produced new versions of the headrests, I believe. No longer on here but on FB or email him at Stagweber https://www.stagweber.co.uk/
Your fed seat frame looks the same from memory. I can take a partial photo tommorrow . I believe us cars had a headrest bolt in from the back. U.K. Cars had a smaller pice bolt
t into the same holes. So just one piece of foam different,
I fitted Federal head restraints to my Mk1 about 20 years ago. Direct replacement. Held in place by 4 screws from the rear. Best upgrade I did to that car. Much more comfortable and felt safer in the event of a rear-end shunt.

here is my UK spec Mk1 with the small UK spec pad removed, think all the rest would be exactly the same
Thanks for the photo. The foam profile which I have, from South East Trimming, follows the Mk1 UK seat. Here's a photo of the Mk1 Fed. seat. I will need to add some foam to match my seat covers profile near the head rest.
