    Hood Stowage Problem

    Hi,
My hood has not be stowed for a couple of years, as I have been restoring the Stag.
I now find that I am struggling to close the tonneau cover with the hood stowed.
The tonneau latch is about 1" away from the catch.
Does anyone have any pictures showing how low the hood should stow away please?
    Thanks.

My suggestion is rightly or wrongly. With the hood erected wet it down (don't soak it) allow to just dry. Lubricate all the frame joints. work the hood up and down a few times and try again

Check that the cable to the latches has not come adrift from its clips. Mine had and was catching the side hinges, preventing the hood from dropping fully. Some of the clips had broken so I just unclipped the lot and let the cable lie on the floor behind the seat.
Unzipping the rear screen to let it fall behind the seat will also give you a little more room.

You say The tonneau latch are about an inch away from the catch, when refitted things are you sure you havent fitted them on the wrong sides

I unzip the window, lower the frame, tucking in the material as it folds, then a little “wiggle” to make sure each side is settled. The frame should then be level - I place a sort piece of hose pipe over each lever engagement pin to stop it rubbing the under side of the tonneau cover. Making sure the release lever is fully returned to the shut position , the cover should then clip in place with a firm downward pressure on each side above the catch.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
I unzipped the rear window to release some tension.
I found that the centre rear locking mechanism (where the hole is) was and is still catching on the front edge of the hood.
If I lift the hood slighty when closing the tonneau it fits in OK
I also had to fully lower the hood mounting point on the B posts and then raise the catches.
The tonneau now closes OK, but I am not sure what has happened to require all this adjustment.
            Thanks,
            Den
