Hi all. I need some help and advice needed please. I went to start my 1972 stag this morning which had been stored for the winter. I connected the newly charged battery to prime the fuel system and turned her over. She was great as usual and started on the 3rd turn, only problem was I had to turn her off after a minute or so as there was fuel leaking out of the bottom of both carb's. Not sure if this is a common problem or a one off, and exactly what I should do next.

If you still have the Stombergs there is a rubber seal on the plastic plug in the centre of the float chamber - it sounds like these may have dried out and failed. Otherwise it could be stuck float valves letting the float chamber over-flow, or possibly a leaking fuel line.
Suggest take the air filter and inlet trumpets off to see where the fuel is coming from. You will likely have to have the ignition on whilst doing this to pressurise the system. Probably best not to have it running in case fuel gets on a hot exhaust. Don’t leave the ignition on for too long in case the coil overheats.

Thank you - yes they are the Stomberg carb's, the fuel was pouring out of the plugs a the base. I have since taken them off the engine and seen the O rings you have mentioned. I assume it's quite a quick fix to change these and get her running again. Or should I put the carb's in for an overhaul.
