I had to drill out my latch ( no key and PO buggered it) Hate to spend $60 on a new one. Has anyone fitted a more available latch? Generic boat latch, Bug twist knob etc. Redoing the woodwork, so that is not an issue. As I run with the hardtop, no need for a key. Need to make a sturdier door retainer as the cheap plastic one is broken, then add a pop up cup holder on the back side.

Aren't most of the Triumph glove box locks the same? I would have thought it isn't something that goes wrong and there would be plenty of cheap used ones available.

Might be interested in the drop slide. I'll PM you. I found my old broken plastic one when I got the box open. I ordered a brass one that I will have to cut down and re-weld. A proper size one woudl be better.
I kind of like the twist knob from a VW, but I might just stick it in my B. I was thinking about just a pull tab and a nice neo magnet. They make slightly bigger black plastic latches for boats with a nice finger grip bit a little big.

Hi Geek,
I'm probably veering off topic, but this is a TR6 glovebox pull that I've added to my Stag. My wife has an unfortunate habit of decorating anything shiny (paint, chrome etc.) with her finger prints. In an attempt to save the veneer, this was an easy fit, with only minimal fettling of the wood with a Swiss file.
