I remember a paper years ago done by Saab on this question. They found in bad weather, disks gave slightly better pedal feel. In dry weather, no difference at all. That was their justification for the additional cost. Maybe for a race car, but not for street.

In a Stag, it would be no more than expensive kiddy-racer bragging rights as it is on most cars. Kit? For a Stag? Let me check, nope, not April 1. Maybe something made for a TR-6 could be modified.

I liked the Saab system with the handbrake working the front calipers. It actually could work like an emergency brake, and the other trick was to use it to give two-wheel-drive. I got out of a snow covered pothole in a parking space once that way. Of course, only for front wheel drive.

Being an owner on the dark side, with a 3.9 RV8, T5 gearbox, Corsa electric power steering, Willwood 4 pot calipers up front modified Stag, I am right up there when it comes to trying something different, but I don't see the point or need to fit discs on the rear.
My millstone has better than 240BHP and is frequently driven as if it were stolen, and, in my opinion, the standard brakes are probably good enough to do the job, I fitted the wilwoods on larger vented discs to avoid fade when I'm being stupid, and it is an upgrade which does improve braking feel and seems to cut braking distances.
I've never noticed a problem with the rear braking and the handbrake is far better compared to other cars I have owned which have had discs on the rear as standard.
If I were to dabble further with the brakes it would be to fit an ABS system, but where would be the fun in that.

When you list it out like that, there is no contest - 240BHP! I’m disappointed I brought a Stag with a TV8. Only down side is the gearbox.... I have a ZF T&L conversion..... I would say your are more Rebel Alliance than Darkside!

I have my CAD drawings for the rear disc conversion for fitting a Ford caliper.

                It is worth doing
