Cross member

Hello chaps, had to cut lower arm bush out of cross member with grinder but slightly cut into cross member. Do you think If I repair with welding and grinding back flat would be ok. Many thanks Steve.

Maybe weld large washers on the outsides for strength.

Thanks Sujit, you can't really see it in the photo that well but I have cut where the side of the bush will be up against and now it's jagged rather than flat. Cheers Steve

You can get a flap disc in there and smooth out the surface. Then if need be, weld in washer(s) as Sujit noted and you'll be good to go. You may have to flap disc the washer(s) to get them thin enough to get the front suspension arm back in there.
