Well I've done it. I've sold my Stag. I had mixed emotions as I watched it drive away today, especially as I wasn't in it. It was a tough decision but to be honest I'm too darned fussy and refused to take it out if there was any likelihood of rain. This meant that last year for instance I only did 800 miles and in 3 years I've done less than 3000.
There's a lovely part of the story concerning the lady who bought it from me. Sadly she lost her husband last year but he was a close friend and work colleague of the previous owner, who himself died in 2016 having owned the car 27 years in which time he did a full nut and bolt restoration. Anyway the son of the lady who bought the car is 16 but grew up with the car which was always promised to him so it's now rightfully back where it belongs and I know he'll cherish it as I have done. I've always considered myself the Stag's custodian and now I know who I was looking after it for.
I just wanted to thank all the people on this forum whom have offered help and advice and a special mention to Dave-022,from Cornwall who was kind enough to send me a spare Lumenition chopper wheel and wouldn't even let me reimburse his postage. I still want to buy you that pint if and when the pub up here in Threshfield ever reopens.
Anyway farewell and let's hope life gets back to some sort of normality.
regards
Richard
