What holds the centre console wood down?

I'm just looking at the centre console wood, what holds it down?

Do you secure the gearstick wood to those 2 small holes in the bracket then screw the bracket down? if so how does the piece above it fit? does it snap in with that rubber edge? I have the tab for the lower end..

Yes theres two brackets that screw to the wood , one clips under the console the other screws to the tunnel , the coin tray is screwed to the rubber edge and is pushed down

OK that mkes sense.. I had to make a new gear lever panel so no tel tale holes.

Forward piece, coin tray I guess, is friction fit, tough I may use a couple of neo magnets or velcro to eliminate the warped black plastic lip. Then two screws hold the rear section sheet metal. Clips hold it to the frame from the back. No screws should be visible from the top. Making all new wood. Mine is de-laminated and I am using generic window switches that are slightly smaller. Radio wood will be new to fit a DIN radio. Dash new to center the gauges. Glove box repaired to pit in the new ( old) lock, ( got it, much thanks. I owe you dinner) . Going American walnut. Can't buy the vacuum pump until next month as the budget is used up on the rest of the HVAC and electrical parts. I might buy a larger HVAC pump and gauge kit so I can test the evaporator and condenser before putting it all back together, then use it for vacuum veneering.
