    Engine Sound recording

    Hello all!

I've recently started a new hobby of recording lots of everyday sounds and atomspheres, like storms, wind and birds. The sounds are recorded in really high quality stereo and are best heard through headphones.

Here is the sound of my Stag starting up after sitting all week! Please let me know what you think!

All sounded familiar....except my Stag only starts as readily as yours when it is hot.
When cold, it is usually quite reluctant to fire up.(Cue lots of starter motor churning, then 1 cylinder firing, then 2, 3....you get the picture!)
You could of course record the lovely sonorous roar at the tail pipes when the engine fires up...
    Enjoy your new hobby.
    Stay safe,

    Neil.

She started very well thankfully, although I messed up and pushed the choke in too much in the middle!

I am waiting on a wind protector, so I can record outside - at the moment it will not sound great! I’ll upload an exhaust recording this week!

equally any other suggestions (stag or not) - fire away please!

        Sounds great!
And now let us hear the everyday sound coming from a Stag racing along a nice a windy road on the countryside. :-)

            A tunnel....oh, yes please !
(There's a tunnel on the Thanet Way about 20-odd miles from me that's well-suited for lovely sounds....drop into 3rd, floor it, (observing speed limits !!) up into 4th, then overdrive.....nice......)

I had a 1974 Lancia Fulvia, and there was one section of the coast road where I lived which had a sheer rock wall, about 40 feet high, with several sweeping bends.
It was sheer bliss dropping down through the gears, then letting the revvy wee 1300 V4 get right up near the rev limit, it had a lovely "rasp" above 3,000.....

            Stay safe,

            Neil.
