Fuel leak on top of tank

Interesting. Do you mean the sender seal, or is there a different gasket? and what did you make it out of, rubber?

Metal sealing ring was too small to perfectly lick down properly . Yes I used some type of rubber I cannot remember where I got it from now as it was a good few years abo.

Mine's a '71 MK1 remember!

Well I opened it up and it was filthy dirty around the seal, which wasn't even seated correctly. Cleaned it all up, fitted it all back in snugly, hopefully that's that!
