I’ve got a bent hose which appears to be split and leaking. Is this hose a sealed unit With the whole steering rack, or does it come off somehow? Can’t figure out how remove it!

Yes, you can replace the HP line. That is just a compression nut going into the housing. Getting to it is a real pain, at least it was on a LHD. I think Rimmer carries the two lines to the pump. I had to replace my other hard lines and found them elsewhere. Some "professional" had replaced them in such a way the rack could not come out.

Whilst the pipe looks to be non standard the item is a flared pipe tightened onto a coned fitting within the housing, secured by a brake pipe type fitting.
The pipe is part of the rack assembly and doesn't seem to have a spare parts listing, so the options are a new rack or find the correct diameter pipe and make your own. easier done off the car than on.Your wife is right, size matters. 3.9RV8

Possilby easier to take it off to do it plus then you could rebuild the rack. I did it a while back makes a lot of difference, recently changed the https://www.superflex.co.uk/proddeta...od=SF372-1171K as well made an improvement

Is that water hose I see on one of the high pressure lines??
The steering rack pipes are available from Paddocks.. small price to avoid messing with bending those shapes..
