    Fuel Injection

I know that a lot of people dislike fuel injection for what ever reason but i was asked whats the best system by a work mate. He seen most ones Ive done and likes enhancements F.I. gives but doesn't all the extra bits. He wanted fit and forget system where theres no, looms, ecu's, hoses, injectors or a laptop needed.

With this in mind i was looking for a while then came across this.

They seem to fit the bill all in one system and looking on ebay £1100 for a full kit. Has anyone fitted them as for the price they seem a bargain.

Only my opinion but, although the kit looks very professional, it doesn't achieve the results I would want from EFI. The Stag inlet manifold is a pain, because it cross joins the heads it causes all manner of problems fitting and causing leaks. it also offers a very inefficient path to the ports for the inlet mixture, quickly remove the pedestal and you can often see a puddle of fuel in the inlet.
This is very similar to what Renault called a 'electronic carburetor' in that it replaces the carb and it is true the electronics should regulate the amount of fuel being dumped into the inlet but frankly I see it as little improvement over the carbs and doubtful the gains would be anything more than marginal.

It's a good price though, especially when you look at the price difference between their 390cfm carb and this efi 'carb'
It's also an easy efi conversion and with the problems I have with my 390cfm with ethanol fuel and boiling fuel in the float chambers will solve that too.
If I wasn't so far down the line with my own conversion, would be an easy swop for me.

Alan, when will yours be finished?
With my Holley problems as per above, I feel now is the time to get mine fitted!

WAY too big. Holly makes one in a 2 BBL that with smaller injectors might just work. The one above is for 400 HP American V8's. To big of an injector means the pulse width is too short to be accurate and yo will not get a stable idle or lower end. It is a great unit though.

You need a secondary fuel tank and pump. For a price, Edlebrock makes one or DIY. Or convert your tank to an internal pump. FI has to be sure of on air bubble in the feed. FWIW, I already added a bung for an O2 sensor in my exhaust.

Of course, a bolt on TB does nothing for your ignition. I am considering the CB Black Box. Ran one on a B and was happy with it.

Well that depends on the injectors just because there large doesn't necessary mean they will not be suitable for smaller application and allow a smooth controllable idle. I have 8 X 1050cc injectors running my Stag, idle is smooth as a standard car and response is instant. Admittedly they'er ASNU injectors and controlled by a decent ECU, plus i was assured that they would do everything I needed and should never go over the 85% duty cycle at 3 bar of fuel pressure.

There's a few of these about all nice and compact, some do have ignition control. As there Made in the USA they're going to be good.

Theres bound to be more of them about but they seem to be a good solution's for those with aftermarket inlets fitted.

Here is a Stag with a FiTech fitted. No idea how it runs unfortunately. That particular kit is for 4 barrel applications from 150-400hp, so the Stag certainly fits in that range.

Well its been done and that system can do the timing as well. Good value when you can get it delivered to your door (from the US of A) for under £1150.
