The only problem found on crash testing was the windscreen came out which isn’t allowed in USA. The crash test car hit that wall at speed no intrusion into cockpit. The photo of the damaged car was done by hitting a stone bridge in Stow on the Wold. The steering wheel was bent and had teeth marks on it but the doors opened and closed as if no damage had been done. The person driving it told me (who still has the steering wheel from 1970) that it was a very strong shell so unless your vehicle has very bad rust don’t worry.

When i rebuilt my car and saw how much bodging had gone on before a lot of structural parts were upgraded. The floors had been replace but the old ones were still there an new ones werent welded to the chassis rails. So new stronger floors were made. The A post had the guttering welded to hide some holes but i wasn't to happy with the strength. So the roll cage was added this has made the car a lot safer and has improved the handling no-end.

As for is it safe, well its better than my Kawasaki ZX12R I suppose but not the Range Rover.
