Ignition HT Leads

Hi, I’m hoping to upgrade my spark plugs to NGK Iridium BPR51EX 6597 plugs, at the same time I was thinking of upgrading the ignition the leads. I have an Lamination Electronic ignition fitted and my Stag is a 73 manual. Does anyone ave any recommendations as to what the best leads I can go for?

Hi. I sourced Magnecor leads, very good quality and not cheap, along with your choice of plugs I would suggest you will see a huge difference

Like ALL ignition systems, you want a quality helical core inductive suppression cable. I prefer less than 1K per foot with a weak system such as the Luminition or any other 4A system. What wires do you have, and why do you think changing them is a upgrade? Going to resister plugs, excessive DC resistance on the secondary is not good. The old Magnacores were very high resistance, but I think they changed. They may make a decent product, but their advertising is total BS. TOTAL. If someone advertises that much crap, I don't trust them.

You will not see a huge difference unless you are replacing a defective part. The differences between marginal and fully optimal ignitions when stuck with stock current is minimal at best. Great to optimize as it is so marginal, but do not expect magic. Want a significant improvement is reducing miss-fires, you need to go to a high energy ignition of some sort. Even going to a modern crank-triggered impedance feedback ECU COP system, the differences are not huge to your perception, but easily measured in emissions.

If I were to go out and buy wires tomorrow, I would be looking at Taylor or Moroso and the like. Generic V8 DIY termination.

Side note, what is the gap of those plugs? They sell the same plug with different gaps. You can't accurately adjust the gap of a fine wire plug. .032 to .035 or so is fine, but they sell them with as much as .045 which is way too much for a low energy ignition.
