    Almost there

Last Saturday going 60 + mph on the M42 , smooth as a babies skin ,( no hard shoulder ) car cut out no warning , Returne home via green flag ,who were great .

It wants to start but will not carry on to tickover. using tester I have a spark to the spark plug, ffuel pump delivering plenty of fuel , no holes in the diaphragms ,pistons rise and fall ok ,rotor cap looks ok as does the rotor arm, brand new battery .

Chang coil ? Change electronic ignition ?

Green flag man thought fuel ,no road side help because of the dangerous live lane i broke down in ,with (no for long ) out hazards !!!

    you thoughts most welcome
    cheers Alex

Have you lost the 6volt ballast feed to the coil? If it starts it is getting 12 volts off the starter but when the starter is released it then gets 6 volts via the ballast resistor it wire if it is a MK2.

It happened to me a few years ago; all the vital signs for engine life were there, but it just would not go. Enginuity diagnosed the resistance wire, and soon had me back on the road.
