The upper (outlet) of my fuel pump was leaking. I tightened the banjo bolt a 1/4 turn and that almost stopped it. So I turned a tiny bit more and then it leaked a whole lot more. I removed the banjo bolt and hose, assuming I would need to buy a couple of new plastic washers. However, I noticed the (plastic) thread on the pump was damaged, and when trying to refit the banjo bolt just to test it, it was no longer possible to tighten the banjo (although the bolt on its own without the banjo fitting does screw quite a long way on, as soon as you add the banjo it will not allow you to tighten enough). I guess the metal thread of the banjo bolt has eaten into the plastic thread of the pump. So, looks like I may need to be buying not just a couple of washers, but also a pump, unless there are any other suggestions?
It is a Fuel Flow Ecco pump, which according to the history was only fitted approx 4 years ago. If I need to replace, what are the popular (hopefully with a bit more quality) pumps people fit?
