    Manual gearbox breather hole

I thought I would clean out the gearbox breather hole on my manual gearbox today as I was fettling with the Stag on my weekend off
Inspired by Drews Post on this but I couldn't find it
I had a mirror and a torch but had no luck
my gearbox number is VA 2722
Is this a really early gearbox?
was the breather a later modification?

That is a novelty, its a Dolomite Sprint gearbox!

I wonder what clutch its using, unless whoever fitted it used a Stag input shaft.

My K reg Stag has a Mk1 Triumph 2000 saloon casing and internals but is fitted with a Stag input shaft.

As far as I know all these boxes had the breather in the same place

        Rimmers sell the holes.

I have three gearboxes, do you think they would consider doing a discount for a full set of holes?

I am happy to collect and save on postage, if that helps.

Be careful; there's some funny holes on sale out there. They're known as farce holes....

Its a very silly place for a breather hole, I found mine once using a mirror and a piece of wire but god knows how it allows the box to breathe - there must be a better way

might be cheaper to get them 3D printed

I bought a pack of 10 as they are very easy to lose but at least they are also easy to store and have no shelf life

I had to return mine, was badly made. Got a good one from LD Parts.

It's annoying when you can see the air escaping just after fitting a new one
