As some of you may already know, the Stag Owners Club has been invited to celebrate the Stag’s 40th anniversary as part of the Spring Autojumble event at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu on 15th and 16th May and as the nearest local coordinator it has fallen to me to organise our presence there.
We have been asked to produce a display of 40 Stags for the 40th anniversary – the team at Beaulieu have chosen us as a car with a significant anniversary this year. We’re in good company, previous featured models have included the Morris Minor and Ford Anglia. The Spring Autojumble is a huge event with over 1000 stands and more than 14,000 visitors last year.
Stags on display should be tidy ones. Older or more unusual examples may be given priority if we are oversubscribed, but everyone is welcome. Cars on show will need to arrive by 0930 on the Saturday and Sunday morning and will be free to go at around 1700 (possibly a little earlier on the Sunday). Stags may be left on site overnight Saturday to Sunday, or not, that’s up to you, but we have been asked to have as many of the same cars there on both days as possible.
Exhibitors get a free pass to the event for the car, named driver and named passengers. This includes access to all other attractions on the site, including the National Motor Museum, Top Gear exhibition and Palace House, as well as the extensive autojumble and motormart – see www.beaulieu.co.uk for details.
For those travelling from outside the immediate area, http://www.thenewforest.co.uk/ is a good first port of call for accommodation, but be warned, the New Forest is a popular area and things get booked up quite quickly, whether there’s a major event like this on or not, so it would be wise to act quickly.
We also need any interesting pictures, drawings, diagrams, information that could be blown up to create large hanging displays for the inside of the marquee, so if you have anything you think might be suitable, please let me know. No originals will be on display, Beaulieu have undertaken to make any copies required.
Please could you pass this information on to anyone else who may be interested and ask them to contact me directly if they’d like to take part? In the first instance, I’ll need name, registration number and car colour. The closing date for entries is 30th April, and I will contact all those who wish to come individually to provide them with any more detailed information they may require.
Lastly, please bear in mind that South Central Region does not have a regional coordinator, so please contact me directly on any matters regarding this event.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Wendy
