front wheel alignment (Adjusting the toe)

Posted this question before, I got an answer but cant find it now.
I made a make shift caliper out of gas pipes to measure the distance between front edge of front wheels to the distance between back edge of front wheel. I have about 1/2'' gap. Toe out. If I rotate one tie rod by one full rotation, by how much can I reduce or increase the gap?
If I am performing a crude adjustment, is it better to have a small toe in or small toe out?

Spec is 1/16” to 1/8” toe in.

I would adjust both sides equally or it will affect your steering wheel position.. unless you wanted to adjust that!

If you rotate the one tie rod by one full rotation then that rod will alter by 1/20 " as its either 7/16 or 1/2" UNF with 20 tpi. How much that will reduce your gap all depends what size of wheel you have. As that is a Trigonometry question.
