Oops! Need a new (replacement) RH door mirror

On my way today to get my '73 Stag Registered, after having passed the Roadworthy inspection recently. About 2km from Vicroads, BANG! I got sandwiched between a semi-trailer, and a Ford Ranger. The Ranger won, and I've now got an insurance claim on my hands. As a pre-emptive move, I thought I'd see if anyone has a spare RH door mirror I could buy? Rimmers don't list the rather stylish remote adjustment mirror I need, and rather than replace both with the 'aftermarket' versions, I'd settle for a second-hand 'proper' replacement.

I did manage to get the car registered after explaining my drooping mirror, and the Dashcam I ordered arrived the night before and was fitted and recording at the time. How smug do I feel about that!

Similar mirrors were fitted to the Jaguar XJS, so you may have success trying breakers yards out there.

      Ouch. My sympathy.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Never mind the mirror, the bodywork's looking poorly!
        You have my sympathies.
I've seen Jag XJS remote mirrors fitted to a Stag, unfortunately these have become VERY expensive in the UK.
Quite right about a dashcam - I used mine to present evidence to the Police, when some moron on a badly ridden motorcycle decided to "brake check" me immediately after carrying out an exceptionally dangerous overtake. (He rather foolishly performed a wheelie immediately after crossing swords with me.....but failed to spot the Police car in traffic going the other way ! THEIR dashcam footage "put the tin lid on it....gotcha....)
My Nextbase does record audio, so if I see something "developing" I tend to give myself a commentary.....that way your thought processes are recorded...could be very handy....
Hope your bodywork gets well soon,
        Stay safe,

        Neil.

Thanks Neil. You’re right about the body, but that can be fixed fairly easily. I’m concerned the insurer won’t be able to replace the mirror with the correct one, so will need to change them both so they match. I really like the look of these and I’d rather keep them if at all possible.
          cheers.
