Another thread query

Does anyone know the thread size for the tapped holes in the quarter light gear mechanism. The screw is part no PX554P but Rimmers say no longer available. I checked the Standard Triumph Hardware catalogue and I am sure it is 10-24 UNC but I don"t have that size tap to check. I tried Metric, BA and UNF but because the metal is so soft I don't want to force a tap.

I dont know for sure but though they were 1/4 unf , i can check my car tomorrow

I can’t measure one at the moment. Thought they were 3/16 unf.
10-24 is smaller than 1/4 unc though.

Just checked mine and can confirm its a #10-24 (UNC)

Took the plunge today and bought a set of small diameter numbered UNC & UNF taps and dies
