B Post trim

I am finally re-assembling the Stag after 9 months of restoration works. Is there supposed to be something between the stainless steel trim and the actual B Post? I note there are two slots on the painted B Post which makes you think something may be attached before the stainless steel trim is screwed on by the small screws on both sides. Appreciate you advice. Thanks.

Not on mine, and not in the parts manual, its held on by pop rivets on original.

Thank you Terry. I couldn't find anything amongst the boxes and couldn't remember taking anything else off and like you I couldn't find anything shown in the Rimmer bros parts book. Appreciate your response

When I took some off a parts car, those holes were duct taped over.

Can only think they were holes for some sort of assembly jig or shell carrying frame
