Vredestein Tyres

Has anyone tried Vredestein tyres.

I read good things about them and am thinking of replacing my assorted, very old and cracked set of 195/70’s for a set of Vredestein Quatrac 5 195/70 R14 91T.

Any comments would be welcomed

I’ve been running Vredestein Sprint Classic 185/80H14 tyres Since April 2017. They’ve done 12,000 miles in that time and have loads of life left in them. Very happy with ride and grip.

As above for the Sprint Classics - one of few makes of tyre available in the original size/speed rating. I have had them for quite a number of years now and very pleased.

I cannot speak to the Quatracs, but I am very pleased with my Vredestein Sprint Classics. They are one of the few options that look original and "right" on the car, because they are the original size and the sidewalls are the right height. The car grips, handles and rides very well. Tyre wear seems to be good, but I am not doing enough miles to really stress test that. They will age out before they wear out. Vredestein will be on my buy list for other vehicles as well as a result. If they read this, I do wish they made something that fits the '91 XJS... Only Pirelli seem to make that particular original size.

OP is quoting prices for Vredestein Quatrac 5 195/70 R14 91T. Totally different tyre and speed rating to the Sprint Classics.

I don't see me wearing out my Sprint Classics for at least another 3-4 years (12,000 miles). When that time comes, I'll be looking at fitting the same again if they are available, despite the fact that there are cheaper alternatives.

Be a bit careful here. If your car is one of the later models that came fitted with 175HR14 (80series) tyres, then the size you have on of 1957014 is a good conversion. Fitting 18514(80) is not an ideal fitment unless that was the original size. Triumph fitted both sizes over the production period. For 1957014 size, Khumo is a good make. They are widely fitted by Hyundai and come in the correct HR speed rating. I bought a set of 5 for just over £60-00 each all in a couple of years ago. John
