    hi all new here

    Hello new to this site . I,m doing full resto on 73 stag .Things I have found makes me wounder how some people think . Makes it hard to get parts or replacement panels I,m in New Zealand
    I look forward to talking with others about tips and tricks .

    can anyone tell me the dry weight of the stag body ?

          Yo, Darrin - I'm also in Auckland, with my Stag currently in a thousand pieces. Re your comment "Things I have found makes me wounder how some people think" - I have commented on here previously that it appears previous owners (molesters) of my car threw all of the fasteners in a bucket during a strip, then just rummaged around to find something to fit when putting it back together. Anything left over probably thrown away...

          I also have a complete car I acquired as a donor; rusty as ****, having spent 20- odd years in a barn. Sadly most of what would have been useful to me had deteriorated beyond redemption, though it has yielded a few gems. If there's anything you're stuck with PM me and I'll see if I can help.

              hi davo nice to know someone else has had more filler than car . I see you have yours on a rotisserie how did you set up the rear mounting points ?. also what do you have left over from the donor.

                I have the body at a paint & panel shop - perhaps the attached photo will answer your question. The car was largely rust-free, though there were a few problem areas, for which I sourced repair panels - front lower valance, left rear floor, right rear wing bottom, door bottoms. The shell was acid dipped to reveal all of the nasties.

                The donor car is very rusty and all of the chrome trims, bumpers etc. have suffered the same. I've taken a few things off it for my car - centre console, woodgrain panels, gas tank - and I sold the seats to a guy whose seats got thrown away during a long drawn-out restoration(!) I figured on keeping the car around for reference while I'm putting mine back together, then pass it on to somebody who needs other bits - I'm not expecting to need anything off the engine, trans (BW35 auto) or suspension. Best thing to do is let me know of anything you need and I'll tell you if I can help.

                  Hi Darrin, I'm in NZ, Morrinsville so not far away. If not already I would suggest you join the NZ club. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience and a parts supply system. I am also a member of the UK stag club which gives me access to this brilliant Forum so between us all there isn't anything that can't be solved or done before.
