Sorry if this has been asked in the past but on a J type after the oil has been drained and filter cleaned, what is the refilling capacity? Do I used EP80 or EP90?
3 and a half pints if the overdrive is drained as well, and recommendations were for EP75 to be used when refilling - if you can find that all well and good, otherwise EP80 should pass muster

I have recently done my 'A' type box with EP90---My overdrive is now beautifully smooth, no jerking at all when you come out of it on a trailing throttle.
Plus if you buy a 5litre can you can do the diff too and there will be plenty left on the garage shelf
I undid the drain plug at the base of the o/d unit with a bowl underneath---out it all fell. Cleaned the filter/ magnet then fitted a new fibre washer. I used the oil pump from machine mart (£7.00) to refill.
With the dif - I used the oil pump to suck the oil oil out and then refilled it
