Stag ownership....mechanic or non mechanic?

I'm not a mechanic and I managed to change the waterpump and cure other problems
plenty of info on here and on the net
Mine could possibly be up for sale as I fancy a Merc SL R107 next

Gaz, as said before you are doing exactly the right thing.
research before spending.... there are many sorry tales here where people didn’t do that.
always ask before undertaking a repair.
the best place to get parts from is crucial info.

Yes will do but just saw a picture of my Stag at Mk museum yesterday and it would be hard to let it go ....The Mrs has got quite attached to it

Morning all,
I'd invest in the Owners Repair/Maintenance manual, some good A/F spanners/sockets and good quality hand tools. (Lidl do good quality tools at good prices, screwdrivers etc.)
There's always advice available here on the Forum, if you want to know the ins and outs of doing a specific job..

I think that, at the very least, Stag ownership requires significant "mechanical sympathy", if not experience.

Definitely no need to have been a pro mechanic - plenty of "home" mechanics do very well with these cars.
