I have decided to fit my spare engine to the Stag, mostly because it is occupying my engine stand and the bottom end is already built up.
I have decided to fit iwis chains in the hope they won't stretch and trash the crank sprockets like the last set of rolons did on this engine.
The engine that suffered the seized jackshaft looks rebuildable without huge expense but time pressures make it easier to fit the other.
Fortunately there is no mention of engine number on the logbook, just the letters LFHEA which covers most eventualities:?. After much scraping and cleaning I can just about make out the first three numbers which coincide with the chassis number so it was probably the original engine.
Since I have a MOD gearbox plus nearly all the bits to fit it , this will be fitted at the same time
