Leak from rear of gearbox, manual O/D

Yesterday I realised that there was oil leaking from the rear of the gearbox, it was dripping from the rear gearbox crossmember. This is irritating for me because I have had the gearbox out recently due to a engine rebuild and fxed a leaking gasket inside the clutch housing, but the gearbox have never leaked at the rear before. It did not leak when it was resting under my workbench either, but after installation it started leaking. I have not started to investigate, but I suspect it may be a seal for the speedometer wire, as I was fiddling quite a bit to find a way to route the wire and may have disturbed something when I moved the 90° angle gear around.

I see Rimmer stock a oil seal for the speedo pinion, maybe a dumb question but how do I change this seal? I sincerely hope it's not a gearbox out procedure... I guess I need to remove the crossmember at the very least?

This may be a rude question, but did you check that the breather wasn't blocked when the box was out?

Not rude at all! Yes i made sure it was open. The car has not been run yet, but of course temperature changes might create pressure inside the box.

I've changed the seals with the box out of the car on the Speedo on a manual j type OD with angle drive . simple job. with it in the car I would think you would need to remove the transmission x member. it makes access a bit easier.

Speedo drive is always a suspect but some of the bolts on the Overdrive itself are open to the internals and can leak if the copper washers were not installed,
clean it up and see where its coming from.
