    Inlet manifold gaskets and sealer

Is it possible to make them out of metal and use a gasket sealant between the faces. I just got off the phone with a tech over at Hymolar. I called the US number, but this Scotsman picked up the phone. He's in Scotland. He said if the gap is small enough you can use their products and do away with the gaskets.
Interesting. I asked him the difference between the Hymolar red and universal blue. and he said not to use the universal blue where water is involved. I used the red on my manifold and had to remove the manifold. The Payen gaskets are completely intact. He said I could reuse the gaskets just apply new sealer. Hum! That s new one.

    Any thoughts on anything?

Stag wellseal won't squeeze out inside and form obstructions like most of the sealants do. That's my thought on the subject. Also dry fit the manifold on the bolts with no gaskets and check for parallel mating faces with feeler gauges, if they are not parallel you will have a hell of a job sealing it.

I reused one set of manifold gaskets about 3 times (not payen ones) because the gaskets didn't split when the manifold was removed. This was when I was messing with my early injection systems. I used some sort of sealant on them each time but can't remember what sort as it was years ago. If you are refitting the same manifold you might get away with it, if you are swapping manifolds its more likely to result in leaks
