I'm still struggling with the drop in idle speed after a good long run. There are no air leaks. The last suggestion was to check the fuel filter which I replaced, but this weekend coming to a a few traffic lights it still goes down and the car (auto) stalls. I did check the compensators during the last gasket change. I adjusted them many years back. They both appear to open around the same time.
I have a spare set of compensators, but the previous owner of the carbs had taken them apart and bent the bimetal strip so they stay permanently closed. As a experiment, I'm thinking of swapping these out? I'm assuming, by using closed compensators, my fuel consumption will decease. Is there any other harm that may happen?
Thanks in advance Sujit
