Breakdown cover

Getting close to putting my car back on the road after resto. Without sounding pessimistic any recommendations for breakdown/recovery cover

check some of these "free inclusive" ones.
a friend broke down in his people carrier only to find he was outside the distance from home that they covered to get him home, so he had to pay 40 pounds extra for the one tow home, some are not all they appear.

I'm with GEM. Covers the person, not the car. So one policy covers me and the wife for all our cars (2 dailies and 2 classics). Would also cover us as a passenger in someone else's car.
Only had to use it once so far when the Stag broke down. Had to wait about an hour but we were in the middle of nowhere and the guy had difficulty finding us. However he did come prepared for a recovery rather than just a breakdown.
