    Chrome trim on Hood cover

Need help with fixing some trim
The chrome strip around the hood stowage lid has come loose. Some pf the rivets have broken off and it is only held on by the first and last rivet. I have some rivets but how do I fit them.

    Has anyone done this before?

I'm guessing you are referring to the special disk like rivets that the chrome clips on to, you will need a pop rivet gun to install those.. something like the picture below..

Try to get one with some different sized heads, the smallest one (1/8") will come in useful in other places on the car.

I can handle the riveting but how do I get the chrome strip with its right angle bend threaded round onto the rivets when they are in

      .

The disc on the top of each rivet should just press on the the lip of the chrome strip, rather than being threaded through them.

When you replace the rivets you need the disc caps on top of the rivet, then tilt the trim so one end is tucked under the disc cap and then push down on the other side of the trim it will click in place
