    Brake Caliper Overhaul - Query

I am overhauling a spare set of Stag front brake calipers. Obviously they are off the car. The pistons are currently fully pushed in and I have no air line at home to pop them out. Does anyone have an effective method of removing the pistons.

I will be fitting new pistons, so the old ones can be sacrificed in the process.

try a garage air line first but put a piece of wood between the pistons so that hopefully both will come out enough to be gripped rather than 1 popping right out

When the air line wont do it. My mate who has been doing this for years has a grease nipple to hydraulic fitting he made up, says that pumping grease in shifts anything! worked on mine..

I used a 12 volt tyre pump using the pointed adapter. That pushed the piston out no problem. Keep the piston pointed away as mine came away suddenly and with a lot of force.

if you don't have air, is it possible to drill a small hole. Not all the way through, and use a tool to lever them out?
if the pistons are protruding out a bit, can you user grinder and grind a groove in the pistons and leaver them out that way.
